Family Karate Serves & Strengthens
Family Karate has been serving our community by developing children, supporting parents, and strengthening families for nearly 40 years. We are also totally commited to strengthening our community.
Our Schools. Family Karate has always supported our local schools. We offer schools Say No To Drugs programs, Life Lessons, Teen Safe courses, Teacher Appreciation Awards, Career Day talks, and fundraising support. Through our Champions for Children fund, we are able to offer scholarships to at-risk youths and school programs in inner-city areas.
Children's Charities. Family Karate has also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for children’s charities such as the Pediatric Brain Tumor Association, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Through these efforts, each of our students learn to take personal responsibility for making the world a brighter place.
Special Need Programs. Family Karate pioneered Adapted Martial Arts for physically challenged and developmentally disabled folks, a program that has been adopted nation-wide. We will soon begin helping our amputee veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq to regain strength and confidence through our Wounded Warrior program.
Black Belts in Life. As our Black Belts progress through the ranks, they give back to our community in many ways in many places. While all our Black Belts are involved in our community fund raisers, each of our Second and Third Degree candidates select a major charity project in which to make a difference. These Family Karate senior students have been involved in helping:
